About the international demonstration experiment of the disaster safety
confirmation system (the IAA system)

The IAA system is the system which confirms the safety of disaster victims. The
development and the research began after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995.
The IAA system was piling results of some operations so far and recently. In case of the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake in the end of October, 2004, Niigata Local Government made a decision to use the IAA system of the safety confirmation.
The IAA Alliance cooperated with NICT, has installed IAA system in Louisville, Colorado in U.S.A and Toulouse in France and linked Japan,U.S. and Europe. IAA Alliance will operate for the safety confirmation demonstration experiment for the system in this time.
The IAA system which has been installed in the foreign countries is called the WWIAA system ( the World Wide IAA system ), and the structure
of WWIAA has been described in the annex of this document.
By this, even if it gets to do impossible with two IAA systems operation, the IAA system can continue operation.
It is expected that the disaster which occurred overseas can be quickly supported by attempting the WWIAA system.
It is expected that IAA system is accessed from the massive number of users in short time.
To confirm that the system operates even in case of an emergency, it is necessary to create the situations which the massive number of users
accesses the system successfully in a short time.
The IAA Alliance and NICT has decided to implement the international demonstration of the IAA system for this purpose.
The international demonstration experiment gets and implements cooperation of the relation organization by the 1 week schedule from 5a.m. on January 17th in Japanese local time.
We request active participation in the more general demonstration experiment because it accesses IAA system using the Internet access feature of the PC and the cell phone to have gotten on the Internet and the registration of the safety information and the retrieval can be experienced.
